Amy Carr

Amy Carr works in fundraising and communications in the nonprofit sector, where she has spent over a decade supporting mission-driven organisations to grow their impact and strengthen their connection with supporters and communities. She is currently Director of Fundraising & Marketing at Focus Ireland, where she leads work to drive sustainable voluntary income and build strong public engagement. Under her leadership, voluntary income has grown, supported by a focus on long-term strategy, culture, and team development.

Amy’s career has centred on collaboration, learning, and helping teams create environments where people feel valued, trusted, and able to do their best work. Much of her leadership appro​​ach has been shaped by working in complex environments, where thoughtful partnership, resilience, and a values-driven mindset have been essential to achieving meaningful progress.

Before becoming a mentor with The Elischer Foundation, Amy herself took part in the programme as a mentee several years ago, an experience that played an important part in her own development and confidence as a leader. She believes leadership is personal, reflective, and grounded in curiosity and care, and she approaches mentoring as a shared learning journey.
