Jon Jacques

Jon is Global Fundraising Specialist for Legacies at Amnesty International Secretariat. Since January 2023, he’s helped 25+ Amnesty sections around the world to develop campaigns to inspire their supporters to consider including a gift in their will to ensure human rights are defended for the generations to come. Currently legacy gifts are worth more than £40m to Amnesty globally, which is £1 in every £8 that the movement receives from its supporters.
Between 2010-2022, Jon led Legacy teams at the following UK based charities: Save the Children, Barnardo's, Royal Mencap Society and British Red Cross. He is probably most well-known for developing and launching BRC’s integrated Legacy TV campaign in 2012 and driving sector partnership Will Aid as Chair to pivot its will-writing proposition during the pandemic, while at Save the Children.
Jon first cut his teeth as a legacy fundraiser working as Senior Account Manager for RSPCA at fundraising agency Whitewater between 2007-2010.
Favourite Leadership Quote
“When you’re a leader up to something, every interaction is an opportunity to engage others in you and the future.”
~ Steve Radcliffe, Leadership Plain and Simple (2010)
I applied to the Elischer Foundation because I intend to use the momentum, I believe its mentorship programme will provide, to power through the glass ceiling that seems to exist for many legacy fundraisers to take on leadership of charity teams.
