Jen Murgatroyd

UK

Jen’s Fundraising career started in 2007 joining Cancer Research UK as an Event Manager delivering the Race for Life series in Yorkshire. Seven years and three babies later she moved into Community Fundraising where she quickly developed her career and was promoted several times. Following Covid, a subsequent restructure and a 14-year tenure with the charity she took a huge leap of faith and secured her first Director role in January 2022 as Director of Fundraising for Headway the brain injury association.

Why apply?

“I have always been keen to develop further but the timing was always out of sync or the courses available didn’t match. I’d either been in fundraising too long, wasn't a manager or I'd been a manager, and courses were better suited to team members. The TEF opportunity has come at a brilliant time for me and I’m excited about what I will learn about myself in the process. I know that I will learn from my mentor, and it will give me more knowledge and confidence. It will make me think differently which will shape how I build and lead my teams, deliver results, and develop as a sector leader.”
